| HOW I GOT IT TO INSTALL THE EXTENDED VERSION |
Since so many people seem to have issues with this - I thought I would tell you how I went about it. Realistically you dont need the "Extended" version. The extra features are more than most people will need given the kind or graphics they hope to create. Saying that however, I realise most of us want the "LOADED WITH EVERYTHING" version - just so it looks good and we can brag about it. I was using the BETA version before I installed the RETAIL EXTENDED version.
1. If you have not installed anything on Photoshop 3 BETA, then skip to step to step 4Unistall the BETA version using add/remove programs in the control panel.
2. Restart your computer
3. Go to Adobe and get the NEW version of the cleanup script to remove anything the CS3 BETA would have left behind using level 1 of the script. In my case I didnt think it did, but its safer to make sure its fully removed. Get the version 1.02 of the script from here: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs3clean.html
4. Unrar/unzip the CS3 release until you get the ISO file.
5. I then mounted the ISO image using Daemon Tools. After mounting - it will autorun. Stop this. Go into your virtual drive and physically copy ALL the files and folders into a new folder you have created on your hard drive.
6. Once the files are copied - go to this location and run "Setup.exe" - that will install CS3.
7. Install and if it asks you to restart your PC then do it.
8. Grab the keygen that is listed in this readme.- not any other. This keygen creates EXTENDED version keys. Generate a serial number.
9. Congratulations - you now have a VALID EXTENDED Version of PS CS3.
So you're wondering what happened to activation? Well guess what - the EXTENDED version doesnt require activation! The standard version does.
A FEW MYTHS CLARIFIED:
1. There is no physical difference between a standard or an extended ISO. Every PS CS3 ISO has both versions built in. The version you will get depends on the type of serial number you use when you first run it.
[b]2. If you get the following error "Adobe Installer Database is corrupt.." after removing the BETA version and then trying to run the RETAIL version, you need to run v1.02 of the clean up script. To be safe, download it from Adobes website - dont get it from the crack links.
